About the role:

Reporting to the Financial Operations Accountant, this position provides essential support to the accounting and finance functions through the accurate and timely completion of transactional and administrative tasks. The role involves processing financial transactions, completing reconciliations, preparing reports, and assisting with specific projects as required.

The primary focus areas of the role are Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, with opportunities to support other teams during peak periods.

What we're looking for:

We need someone who shares our values of One, Respect, Accountability, Courage, and Resilience. The ideal candidate will have:

• 1-3 years' demonstrated experience in a similar role in a large multi-disciplinary organisation.
• Demonstrated experience in finance or accounting support roles, with exposure to payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
• Certificate III level qualifications in Business Administration or related finance/accounting discipline.
• Experience in using complex software such a Technology One or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrated understanding of the issues impacting Torres Strait Islander people together with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively.

Other Requirement

• The preferred applicant will require a National Police Certificate upon commencement.
