About the role
As an Indigenous Knowledge Centre (IKC) Coordinator, you will be responsible for high quality customer service achieved through effective delivery of programming and library services and administration of the Indigenous Knowledge Centre (IKC).
Key Tasks:
- Collaborate with Manager Health and Wellbeing/IKC to develop and implement a regular schedule of programs and activities for a diverse range of community members in accordance with community priorities and interests.
- Increase usage of IKC services through the delivery of promotional and membership initiatives.
- Deliver First 5 Forever early year's literacy programs to parents of children 0-5 years and investigate opportunities/adapt the program to make it more culturally relevant.
- Explore ways of using old IKC materials (books etc.) for craft and other projects.
- Produce weekly report and save to ECM regarding the performance of Council's IKC.
What We're Looking For:
We need someone who shares our values of One, Respect, Accountability, Courage, and Resilience. The ideal candidate will have:
- Mandatory Requirement: must have a current - Working With Children Card (Blue Card) or the ability to obtain is essential before commencement. No Card. No Link. No Start
- Ability to maintain schedules, deliver scheduled programs and monitor their progress.
- Proven capability to create and support productive working relationships within the community that enhances the delivery of the project.
- Active listening skills that show you listen to community needs and can present these to management for implementation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams).
